Dancing in the Distance
For Dancing in the Distance, an art video by Berlin based filmmaker Mario Cordero, I composed a two-part soundtrack that amplifies the piece’s exploration of isolation and resilience. In the main track, Colombian Pacific percussion and Kuisis merge with techno elements to bring a powerful energy to the dancers’ movements, expressing a deep resistance during pandemic restrictions. The closing track, a lo-fi arrangement without percussion, enhances the calm and unity that emerges in the final scenes, as the performers connect in a quiet, shared space.
